Recognising the Attempt

Church Worship & Welfare

The Salvation Army has a number of centres that are attempting to cater for Indigenous Australians in culturally relevant ways. The programs include an Aboriginal Worship Service in Alice Springs and a Painting/Craft Program, as well as an extensive Welfare Program.

The Cross

"The Pastor sharing the word of God with the people."

This Aboriginal Painting was painted by Alma Robinson and presented to the Church in Alice Springs, on August 6th, 1995.

It symbolises the good faith between the Aboriginal congregation and the Church. It is displayed on the Church lectern.
